Agatha Christie Book Tag

The Queen of Crime, Agatha Christie. Despite her books being a century old, always keep the reader in suspense. Her characters are so complex and interesting, that you can't even guess who might be the killer.

1)How did you first get into reading Agatha Christie? & which of her books did you read first?

- During lockdown, my mom bought three bestselling Agatha Christie books, so that I won't be bored. Unsurprisingly, I finished those 3 books in three days. The books were - Murder on the Orient Express, Murder of Roger Ackroyd, And Then There Were None.

2) Have you read any books on Agatha and her life? (Auto Biographies, biographies, etc.

- No I have not but I have watched a lot of mini-movies and documentaries.

3) Have you watched any adaptations of Agatha Christie’s books; films, TV shows, plays etc? If so do you have a favourite?

- The Murder on the Orient Express film was amazing. David Suchet's television show is one of the best book adaptations.

4) Which book of Agatha Christie’s has your favorite villain?

- Five Little Pigs had an amazing villain. I didn't even know that character had such motives to even be on the suspect list.

5) Which book of Agatha Christie’s would you like to read/ re-read next?

- I would love to read the Tommy and Tuppence series by her

6) Miss Marple or Poirot and explain your reasonings about your choice, also your favorite non-recurring character, so just one from one of the books that you loved?

- Poirot all the way, I have read Miss Marple's books but for some reason, they didn't click. On the other hand, I just love Poirot, he's funny and smart. I would love to be his friend.

One non-recurring character of my choice would be Michael Starkwedder from The Unexpected Guest.

7) Agatha Christie also wrote as Mary Westmacott, have you read any of these books? if so what did you think of them and were they like her other books?

- I read one book of her's by Mary Westmacott. I was the Unfinished Portrait and I didn't like it at all. It was just too simple and boring.

8) There are quite a few books that feature Agatha as the character rather than the author, talk about the ones you have read and enjoyed - if you have not then would you like to?

- I would like to think I'll enjoy it. I do love Christie.

9)Do you have a favorite Agatha Christie book that you find yourself turning to again and again?

- Hercule Poirot's Christmas is a beloved one of mine.

10)She is known as the Queen of Crime, suggest another female crime author whom you like to read.

- I would love to read something by Dorothy L. Slayers.
