The author of the New-York Times bestselling series - Good Girl's Guide to Murder is back again with a new standalone mystery thriller. I read this book in 5hrs. Normally, I would have taken 3hrs but I was too scared to read it at night. This is one of those books you are afraid to read at night. I have a lot to write about this book, so let's go to the book review.
Summary :-
Red Kenny and her 5 friends are on a road trip when their RV breaks down in the middle of nowhere. But this is no accident, someone's out there to get them.
They have 8 hrs to figure out escape or work out who is the actual target.
Plus Points:-
Our protagonist is realistic, and I relate to her all too well. She lost her mother and is traumatized by the fact.
Quick moving plot- The first 50 pages are slow but when it picks up, its like a non - stop ride.
Nicely written plot twists which have shock factor.
Minus Points :-
Apart from 3 characters, the others fell short, they didn't have enough personality and felt stereotypical.
It felt oddly repetitive sometimes.
I think at the end there should have been another plot twist. Kind of like, A Good Girl's Guide to Murder.
Personal Opinion :-
I think A Good Girl's Guide to Murder set the bar too high. The trilogy was so sell crafted that this standalone fell short. I'm not saying standalone mysteries are bad, I love them. But this one wasn't the best. I felt some characters could have been used more, and there was definitely some place for an extra plot twist that would flipped the the story line.
Overall Rating and Review :-
Rating - ⭐⭐⭐
Review - Not mind blowing but still entertaining
That's all for today
Happy Reading!
