One True Loves by Taylor Jenkins Reid - Book Review

Updated: May 4, 2023

Summary:

Emma Blair weds Jesse, her high school sweetheart, in her twenties. They fabricate a life for themselves, far away from the assumptions of their folks and individuals in their old Massachusetts neighborhood. Together, they travel the world, taking advantage of every opportunity for adventure and living life to the fullest.

Jesse is riding in a helicopter over the Pacific on their first wedding anniversary when it goes missing. As soon as that happens, Jesse is no more.

In an effort to rebuild her life, Emma quits her job and moves back home. Emma rekindles her love for Sam when she runs into him years later in her 30s. Emma feels like she has been given a second chance at happiness when Sam proposes to her.

Until Jesse is located, that is. He is still alive, and he has tried for years to return to her. Emma must now figure out who she is and what she wants with a husband and a fiancé while attempting to safeguard those she loves.

Who is the one true love she has? What does it entail to love truly?

Emma is aware that she must follow her heart. She simply is unsure of what it is saying.
