  • Top 10 Fantasy Books

Fantasy is the genre full of magic, wizards, creatures, kingdoms, and a hundred other things So here are the top 10 Fantasy Books / Book Series according to me... # 10 - Caraval Series by Stephanie Garber It's a trilogy about a magical circus where a game is played and how people sometimes even go mad while playing it. The first book is about Scarlett who thinks her sister is lost and the only way to find her is to win the game. It has a unique fantasy system, interesting characters, lies and deception, and romance sprinkled throughout. # 9 - A Court of Thorn and Roses Series by Sarah J. Maas I know there are a lot of haters of Sarah J. Maas but this is one of the best series. The book that started the Fae trend in books. Originally, set as a Beauty and the Beast retelling, as the series progresses it turns into something better. It has the fae court world, mates and romance, friendships, talks about mental health and each character has a unique backstory. # 8 - Throne of Glass Series by Sarah J. Maas The best Sarah J. Maas series out there. It was her first work, spanning 8 novels with a total of 4896 pages. The series starts out slow and just evolves into something big and better. Full of all the fantasy elements you could think of, except well vampires but besides that, it has everything. It has a vast fantasy system, amazing friendships, iconic couples, adventures, quests, and a final war worth waiting for. # 7 - Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern Another book is set in a setting of a circus. It is a book about two magicians who choose people for a magical competition which decides who is better. But this time the two people they choose, fall in love. It's a story about hope, family, and how to escape fate. Stories intertwined with other characters. The characters are truly the people who hold the plot. # 6 - Ember in the Ashes Quartet by Sabaa Tahir One of the best ya fantasy series out there. It has the most unique magic system. The politics are like a mirror reflection of our own world. You grieve for each and every character from the protagonist to the antagonist. All seem just in what they do. An emotionally wrecking series and that keeps getting better with each book. It has friendships, death, complex family relations, and star-crossed lovers' romance. # 5 - Dance of Thieves Duology by Mary E. Pearson Set in a medieval fantasy realm. Full of social fantasy politics. It explores different tropes to the full end and makes them better. The plot is complex and interesting to read. The characters are raw in emotions. It has enemies to lovers, family dynamics, wars, and spies. It has everything you could ask for. # 4 - Sands of Arawiya Dulogy by Hafsah Faizal Definitely, the best fantasy duology I have read. It has assassins, hunters, and spirits. The plot is amazing. It has well-built political intrigue. The magical creatures and items are unique. The characters have amazing backstories that define their actions well. It has a unique fantasy world, complex relations, and a whirlwind romance of enemies to lovers. # 3 - Starless Sea Zachary Rawlins finds a book about his life in a library, and he decides to follow it where it goes, only to find his story is just a part of a larger one. A story about a library, lovers, friends, and most of all - time, fate, and death. Erin Morgenstern always writes beautiful, lyrical stories. It's well thought out and leaves no threads open. The characters are complex and almost feel real. Not all have tragic backstories but still feel raw in terms of their stories. # 2 - The Shadowhunter Chronicles by Cassandra Clare This is one of the best fantasy series and also one of the longest. It consists of the Mortal Instruments, Infernal Devices, Dark Artifices, the Last Hours, and a other few companion novels and it's a still ongoing series. Set in the same world but during different periods of time. Each character is complex and there is a lot of representation. Cassie rights amazing romance and it's evident in her books. The fantasy system starts out as cliche but turns into something unique. Full of loved tropes and it has the best love triangle written to date. # 1 - The Folk of the Air Booktok's Favorite Enemies to Lovers is my favorite too. It is set in a fae world and our main character is human. It has amazing political intrigue. The characters are written in a way that makes you despise them and love them at the same time. There isn't a single clickable character in this series and yet the way it's written makes it so enticing to read. It follows one main trope but it does it so well. Till the next Happy Reading...

  • OMG! That Song Book Tag

Music is one of the most important parts of our life. We become happy sometimes, and sometimes cry our eyes out to it. Listen to it while staring out the window or while jumping and dancing on the bed. We sometimes even make playlist for specific things (or books). So, when I found this book tag, I knew I immediately wanted to do it. So, without pressing pause let's go ahead... A song you have to listen to no matter how many times you’ve heard it before Fairytale by Alexander Rybak - This is one of my favorite songs of all time. One of the main reasons I love this song is because it reminds me of Jude and Cardan. It just takes me on a journey through Elflame. A book you’ll never get sick of reading Once upon a Thriller by Carolyn Keene - Listen, I'm big Nancy Drew girl. I love mystery and adventure. In this book, things from a author's books start actually happening and Nancy as always is there to solve the mystery and save the day A song that reminds you of the cringiest time of your life I Hate Everything About You by Three Days Grace - Well, I can't really explain this one, but sometimes you have friends you love but sometimes then also hate. A book you read that you wouldn’t like if you were to read it now Matilda by Roald Dahl - I don't know why but I just feel that the only reason I liked this book was that I read it when I was in second grade, but know I don't think I would be interested. A recent song that you have on repeat Worth It by Fifth Harmony - I just heard this song 3 days ago and it's been on constant repeat. I just love the vibe and beats. A recent favorite book Finale by Stephanie Garber - I just loved the ending. New favorite series for me. Also it was a little similar to another one of my favourite, The Night Circus. I just love the magical circus vibe. A song that is literally me Anti-Hero by Taylor Swift - I think ever since this song came out, a lot of people would reply to this question with the same answer. It's just realistic and full of dark humor while maintaining the upbeat background music. A book that is me in book form An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir - I actually think I'm one of the characters from this book. That would be Laia. This is one of the books I felt represented in. The culture and the world-building is just amazing A weird song that you liked anyway Running Up That Hill by Kate Bush - I won't say that this song is weird but it just stuck out for me. The reason I know this song is because of Stranger Things. I just love the beat and lyrics. A unique book that stuck out to you for some reason Sophie's World by Jostein Gaarder - This book was recommended to me by my mother. It's one of the most unique books I have ever read. From the lyrics to the beat, everything is perfect. A book you’d curl up with on a rainy day Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie - Even though in the book, it's snowing, I would read it on a rainy day. It's one of my favorite books of all time. Amazing mystery, interesting characters and suspenseful atmosphere. That's all for today Till the Next Keep singing and listening to music Happy Reading!

  • How to write a good book review

Do you need to write a book review for school, or might just own your own blog and need advice for writing some book reviews, well you have come to just the write place. When, I first started this blog, I had no idea how to write a book review. But you live and learn, and then teach others. So let me guide you step by step on how to write a book review... #1 - Introduce the book Start by summarizing the book, do not give away everything about it, only basic and essential details. Write it in a way that instigates the reader to know more about it. #2 - Spoilers Now, this one depends on what kind of a book review you are writing, if you are allowed to talk about details in depth, you can write a plot summary or maybe just add them to the above point. If you aren't allowed or don't want to just begin with the point above. #3 - The Positives Write about everything you liked about the book. This can be about anything - the author's writing style, the genre, the plot, the characters, the settings and the pacing. Be as descriptive as possible, you can go into details depending on the kind of book review. Try to make it in points so it is easier for the readers to read. #4 - The Negatives Now that we are done with everything you liked and loved, it's the time for everything you didn't. It's ok to strongly dislike a book or even hating it, but's its not ok assuming everyone will also hate it. Be careful in this part, differentiate between personal opinion and critical opinion. You can write about the same points as above. The points can divided into positives and negatives accordingly. #5 - Personal Opinion Now, here you can write your personal opinion and thoughts on the book. You can also rate the book. Tell about your views on the book. This needs to feel authentic. Watch the Sunrise - a Book that Inspired you The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho I just love this book so much. This book made me want to achieve something in life and do it without the fear of losing. Till the next Happy Reading!

  • Poetry Pages - Chapter 4 - Édition Scolaire et Bus

Chapter 4 is a very special one, since this one is for my friends at school. Recently, I have started writing a lot of poems on the way to school, in the bus or even in the class when I have a free period. Believe it or not, I will say these poems are the best poems I have ever written till date. And all thanks to my friends at my school and bus. So let's read some poetry...... Us My life has changed since I met you, My life has changed since the moment I saw you. Sometimes I wish we talked more, Dreaming of us, walking on the shore. Sometimes I feel it is only us in the world. Just us two, Whispering, I Love You! But now things can never be the same, Wild, raw emotions can never be the tame, Always burning this kind of lovely flame, Always playing love's ugly game, Blushing just cause I heard your name The world has turned us into a mess, Do you have any idea how I feel, take a guess? You never know though, What in my life, you brought. You have given me many tears, throughout all these years. You are the reason of my many fears I wish you were near, Wish your feelings toward me were clear. I feel like I owe you an explanation I don't know our destination, I don't know your intention. I think a lot about you in my imagination. Sometimes I want to tell you everything, Sometimes nothing at all, Sometimes I don't feel anything, Sometimes I feel every emotion, big or small. You play with my emotions, You play with my feelings. In my heart, you took up a proportion, You gave me mixed meanings. Decide what you want, To make or break this bond, Decide what you want to say, But whatever happens, I hope you stay. I will wait till the end of time, Love like ours should be a crime. Love stories always end in tragedy, For such pain there is no remedy. You never gave me a moment of peace, You never gave me a moment of ease. I have ran out of words to say, But one last thing I would like to add, if you may. I will always hope for you till my last day. Truth about Love ? They don't know the truth about love? People think it is about hearts beating fast, It is really passion consuming you so much that you heart can sometimes stop Loving someone till your breath last Just by seeing a person your pulse can drop. People think it is about being happy and glad, It is really about going through heart-wrenching pain and being sad. Loving someone till it drives you mad. Just by seeing a person, who used to make you feel happy, now makes you feel bad. People think it is about candle light dinner and taking an evening stroll, It is really about fighting till you cry and then making up. Just by seeing a person, your world stops, the person whose heart you stole. They think they know the truth about love, It's all a lie, It burns your soul and heart until you die. Ode to You You are my favourite pair of eyes to look into, My eyes always stare at you, but you have no clue, I say that I hate you, but that's untrue, Sadly, Love's a thing you can't undo. You are my bright morning sun, Burning up my heart, but I still think you are the one, You are my moon, Beautiful and calm, but I am always leaving too soon. You are the reason I hum love songs, With you is where my heart belongs, You are the reason I write this poem, With you my soul feels complete and wholesome You are the medicine and the pain, I forget where I am when I hear your name, When I look at you, my heart sometimes stops, But you keep your heart sealed with too many locks. I have whole chapters dedicated to you, in my life story, While I barely get a para in yours I get all the hate, while you get the glory Because of you my mind and heart has went through many wars. When I look at you I forget my name, But your heart is under her claim, You look at her, the way I look at you, When you talk about her, my world turns blue. She broke your heart in pieces, unrepairable, I still love you, your pieces, while she only loved you when you were stable, But the bits of your hearts still belong to her, Silly, how the lines between pain and love blur. She hurt you but me also, I see through your fake smile, 'cause I know, No matter how much pain it gives, my love for you will always grow, You don't know how many love poems to you , I owe She was your first but I could be your last, I could be your future, while she was your past, Maybe I could heal, what she broke, I would love you for real, not as a joke. You are my everything, you are my life Without you, I don't think I could survive. Fake Friends I feel so tired all the damn time, All my pains, in a crazy way rhyme, I do everything, but still feel empty, I desperately try but still can't see, The wind flies over my head calming me. Everything is fine, but it still hurts, My pulse is so fast, heart sometimes bursts, I am awake all night and day, I run away but my problems stay, Crying at night, awake, I lay. I try to think, but I can't, I could do something, but I shan't , Sometimes I hate the people I am supposed to love, Sometimes I love the people I am supposed to hate, I do everything on time, but I am still late. Sometimes I want to leave, All hope is lost but I still want to believe, And people do nothing to improve, All this anger and frustration, I can't soothe, Understanding and love, even little, is all I need Because that is all I need to get freed. Maybe I am the problem, or it's just them, Sometimes I feel I am growing without a stem, People think my emotion's are a game, Sometimes all they want is fame, But I'm there when they need someone to blame. But people don't understand, That sometimes I just can't, Sometimes I need to be alone, Sometimes I am emotionless like a clone, I feel so weak, can't sleep or stand. They think that I should be their servant, Little do they know, on my heart thee make a dent, They are fine as long as I keep them glad, But when it is my turn, sometimes they just make me feel bad, In turn of making them glad, they make me feel sad. They take advantage, I wish I could just turn the page, They keep me locked in a cage, They don't remember that even I have limits, I don't know what to do, I am at the end of my wits. Sometimes people are just inconsiderate, Things hurt, no matter how old the date, They should leave if all they need from me is something, This painful song is all I sing, They just cut my wings. It is easy to say it was a joke, But it was old pain, you awoke, I don't think I can trust them any longer, The pain and problems just get stronger, I give up! Roses Turned Grey A long walk down the lane, Memories meet me, so do the pain, The mansion where we lived together, Always soulful and heart-warming was the weather. The nights we danced together in the living, We thought - there was no way this was headed toward doom, You brought me a cat, called Jack, Our colorful world, over the turned black, You played a thousand different songs on guitar, You were my moon and I was a star, Roses were my favourite, but not anymore, Our story was a tragic folklore, But slowly the roses dies Truth is beautiful but I lied, That night you were happy but I cried. But I still go down the memory, Thoughts of you will always stain, The mansion now falls apart, We were doomed from the very start, The Sun is shining but it rains inside, You gave up, but I still tried, I don't dance anymore, Not since you walked out the door, Jack is still with me, But you I never see. The Roses you gave have turned grey, I wish you could still stay. To My Friends Coincidences fill up my life! I have a whole bucnh of crazy friends who, I have no idea, how they made it into my life, They and their stupid tactics have no ends But I have to admit, without them I couldn't survive Sometimes I want to kill them, Sometimes I want to give them a hug, They are my heart's brightest gem, Sometimes they are stuck to me like a bug. They help me through hard times, They assist me at my worst, They even help me in my crimes, I will always put them first. Sometimes irritating, sometimes annoying, Sometimes amazing, sometimes caring, With them I always enjoying, They make me feel confident and daring. With them I always feel loved, With then I am always glad, These friends happiness they have served, They never make me sad. I am grateful for them , forever and ever, I will leave them ,never, Always funny, loving and a few of them clever, I am grateful for them, forever and ever... In my heart, They will always have a part! • Five Survive by Holly Jackson : Book Review

The author of the New-York Times bestselling series - Good Girl's Guide to Murder is back again with a new standalone mystery thriller. I read this book in 5hrs. Normally, I would have taken 3hrs but I was too scared to read it at night. This is one of those books you are afraid to read at night. I have a lot to write about this book, so let's go to the book review. Summary :- Red Kenny and her 5 friends are on a road trip when their RV breaks down in the middle of nowhere. But this is no accident, someone's out there to get them. They have 8 hrs to figure out escape or work out who is the actual target. Plus Points:- Our protagonist is realistic, and I relate to her all too well. She lost her mother and is traumatized by the fact. Quick moving plot- The first 50 pages are slow but when it picks up, its like a non - stop ride. Nicely written plot twists which have shock factor. Minus Points :- Apart from 3 characters, the others fell short, they didn't have enough personality and felt stereotypical. It felt oddly repetitive sometimes. I think at the end there should have been another plot twist. Kind of like, A Good Girl's Guide to Murder. Personal Opinion :- I think A Good Girl's Guide to Murder set the bar too high. The trilogy was so sell crafted that this standalone fell short. I'm not saying standalone mysteries are bad, I love them. But this one wasn't the best. I felt some characters could have been used more, and there was definitely some place for an extra plot twist that would flipped the the story line. Overall Rating and Review :- Rating - ⭐⭐⭐ Review - Not mind blowing but still entertaining That's all for today Happy Reading!

  • The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho - Book Review

First of all, read this book. Seriously, go read this. This book was one of the best things I've ever read. My mom has been recommending this book to me since like, forever. And, I had been in a reading slump since 2 - 3 weeks. I couldn't get into any book. So, when I picked this book, I thought why not? Let me tell you, I read this book in 2 hrs. on point. One of the best books ever. It has sold over 20 million copies worldwide. It even has been translated into 42 languages. If that didn't convince you, scroll ahead. Summary - A shepherd who goes on a life changing journey to fulfill his destiny. List of all the plus points :- Easy to read. No complicated words or sentences. Realistic Characters - I related so much to the characters, they almost feel like a real person. Great Messages - Even though the main theme of the book is destiny, it has other messages such as - your own choices, positive thinking and love. Short read - sometimes we need a short book with a good thought, this is that book. And trust me, after you finish it, you'll wish it was longer. Character Review :- Santiago, the shepherd - He is definitely one of the most relatable characters ever written. He represents the people who don't think they want more, and when they finally think about it, they aren't sure if it is worth the risk. The King - He is the one that lights the fire inside our protagonist, when he first comes into this story but you don't think much of him but when he flips the switch, in one second making you love him. The Crystal Merchant - This is the character I related to the most, and I'm sad I did. Sometimes you don't know what's wrong until you start relating to such characters. So complex and underrated. The Englishman - He is like the classic dreamer you see in movies and shows. He follows his dream and though sometimes he doesn't achieve what he wants, he doesn't give up. Fatima - She and Santiago are the only ones with proper names in the book. And, even after that the author chooses not to use their names and instead use boy or girl. When I asked my mom about it she said - it is because it could be any boy or girl in this world. Anyway, back to Fatima's character review, we don't explore much of her character but she is a likeable person. The Alchemist - The one after whom the book is named. He is one of those character who isn't immediately liked but at the end just grows on you. He is smart, quick and an amazing character. At the End Star review - 5/5 stars Final judgement - One of the best books ever written, Go, read it ! Until the next Happy Reading!

  • Midnights by Taylor Swift as Books

It's been 21 days since Midnights released and it is still on constant repeat. I don't think that even one song is a miss. So, I had combine two of my favourite things - Books and Music. So without wasting a single second let's get right to it. Also if you haven't heard the album by now, what are you doing? Go listen and then come back. Lavender Haze - A Good Girl's Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson Ok, before I say anything else, I will say that a lot of these I relate them to the character rather than the book. So for this song I relate to Ravi and Pip. They are the cutest characters I have ever seen in a book. This songs links their relationship in the second book. 2. Maroon - Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas This one reminds me of Celaena and Dorian's relationship. I mean if you have read the books you can understand. It just hurts. I am on Empire of Storms now but I am taking a break because when you read series back to back they all sort of merge which I don't want to do. 3. Anti - Hero = Truly Devious by Maureen Johnson This reminds me of Stevie Bell, our main character. I cannot think of one line in this song that doesn't relate to her. That poor girl. The way the song tells about self - loathing and anxiety, that is literally Stevie. But the way she breaks through it, is amazing. Read it! 4. Snow on the Beach - Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare. This Song reminds of the whole books itself. The mystical and magical vibes of the song are made for Clockwork Angel. It is one of my favourite book series of all time, it has everything you could possibly want. 5. You're On Your Own, Kid - Taken at the Flood by Agatha Christie I can't say too much about this because then it kinda ruins the plot. But it's based in a small town with a little romance and a lot of murder mystery. 6. Midnight Rain - The Mortal Instruments by Cassandra Clare If you have read this series it needs no explanation. This songs describes Clary and Simon. Of you haven't read this series, why, what are you doing. Go to a book shop and buy the whole damn series. 7. Question...? - A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas Feyre and Tamlin. I don't even want to talk about these two. I am ready to talk about Rhysand and Feyre but Tamlin no. Also, why isn't this Spring Court High Lord Dead yet. 8. Vigilante Shit - The Folk of the Air by Holly Black Jude, this song had Jude written all over like the page in Cardan's Book. I don't think until the end of the book there was a point where Jude did not want to take revenge from someone. 9. Bejeweled - Daisy Jones and the Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid This song is for Daisy Jones. The vibes and lyrics, everything. And the band lyrics, don't even get me started. I have a theory that this song is based on this book. 10. Labyrinth - The Last Hours by Cassandra Clare This song just describes Cordelia and James. When they met till the end of the book. This describes them more in the second book, Chain of Iron. They need a happy ending in Chain of Thorns or else I am rioting. 11.Karma - The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins This song literally Katniss singing to President Snow. Just imagine that scene. I don't even need to tell you the story summary, everyone at this point just knows about the Hunger Games 12.Sweet Nothing - Five Little Pigs by Agatha Christie I am just going to tell you a little bit of the plot and you are going to read the rest of the book. A girl goes to Hercule Poirot who has recently got a letter saying that her mother was not guilty for the death of her father.... 13.Mastermind - Dial A for Aunties by Jesse Sutanto This is another one of the books that you should read blinded. It is another one of my favorites. In short, a girl accidently kills a guy and then it just turns into a comedic mess. Till the Next Happy Reading And listen to Midnights!

  • Book Review : To Kill a Kingdom by Alexandra Christo

To Kill a Kingdom is a story about Lira, a siren from the royal family who is cursed by the Sea Queen to turn into a human until she can take the heart of the siren killer and Elian, a prince, the siren killer and captain to a crew of siren hunters who wants to kill the Prince's Bane. The story is a fantasy romance, retelling and of course, an enemies to lovers. No wonder, booktok loves it. Now, towards the review. List of the Good Things :- The Banter - It was A+, it understood the assignment. It was fun, exciting and full of chemistry. The Characters - The growth these guys went through are amazing. I would recommend going into the book blind because it really comes with a surprise. It's a retelling, a Little Mermaid one but without the whole true love and damsel in distress crap. Both of them are a 180 degree turn from the original and honestly, that's what it needed. Downsides :- Well, about the enemies-to-lovers, it's not exactly love, it's development, as person who stans this trope, I can say I didn't like it. I personally think you cannot develop the arc in one novel, you need a proper book series to do this, ex - Folk of the Air or ACOTAR. I don't know how to explain this one but I think booktok had hyped this book so much that when I read it, it was just disappointing and somewhere it just missed a mark. If it had what it needed, it would have been 5 stars. Overall Rating - ⭐⭐⭐ Would recommend for entertainment and fun, but nothing really amazing. Till the Next Happy Reading!

  • Daisy Jones and the Six : Book Review

The story is set in the 1970s and it follows the story of Daisy Jones, a singer and a band called The Six. And trust me that is all you need to know before you start reading this book. This is one of my all time favorites and a real tearjerker. Would definitely recommend a tissue box towards the end. This is definitely one of booktok's most famous books and it is for a reason. This book made me fall in love with music all over again! List of Plus Points :- It is all written in dialogue and that makes it really easy to read. The characters in the book are being interviewed and makes really interesting commentary because they all remember the same memory but with different point of views. All the characters are well - developed and realistic. Honestly, I am still mad this Band isn't real. You get to see each one of the songs develop and you honestly wish this album was real so you could hear it. You see the story behind each of these songs. Character Reviews :- Daisy Jones - This woman, I am mad she does not exist. She is fun, young and just reckless, and you just fall in love with her. And the character growth you see her go throw is just so damn good. Billy Dunne - The songs this guy writes are just amazing. We see him fall and rise again and the way he has to sacrifice some things. He would definitely win the award for best character development. Camila Dunne - She is one of those characters who you hate just because they are on the path of doing something right. She reminded me how doing something good can be so hurtful and that good and simple things come with a cost. And no matter how much I hate her, I would never say what she did wasn't correct. Karen Sirko - She is one that reminds you that sometimes you just want something without the responsibilities and that just hurts. Simone Jackson - She is the ideal best friend, the one that supports you in every good step and the one who won't let you go down on the wrong path. Graham Dunne - He is the one that reminds you, how you feel when you are in the shadows. He is the one that wants responsibility but that is not given to him. Rating - 5 stars You won't regret reading this book ! Till the next read Happy Reading !
